Mary Wilson Recknagel, Director is a Life Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD). She holds a Fellow (highest level) teaching certificate in Highland and Scottish National. Additionally Ms. Recknagel is an adjudicator (judge) with the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD).  She has served as the Vice President and Treasurer for the Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators (FUSTA).  Ms. Recknagel is currently the Head Scrutineer for the United States Inter-Regional (USIR) championships.

 

Ms. Recknagel began competitive Highland Dancing at the age of 25 and garnered many awards and trophies, including Second runner-up in multiple S.E. Regional Championships.  She is a Co‑Chair, Highland Dancing, for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. Additionally, she is the operational scrutineering organizer for the Savannah Highland Games and the Chicago Spring Fling.

 

Her students have competed all over the United States Scotland, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom, including the United States Highland Dance Championship (USIR).  Her students have performed at Callandwolde, Chastain Park, Celtic Christmas, Epcot, ”Brave” Premiers, the Stone Mountain Military Tattoo, and the Red Clay Theater. Her students have danced with the Indigo Girls, Jamie Laval, and The Celtic Company.

Lindsay Recknagel, Instructor is a Full Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD). She is the Co-Chair - Administration for the USIR 2015, which will be held in Atlanta, GA July 2015.

Lindsay began her competitive Highland Dancing at the age of 8 and was very successful throughout her dancing career with many championships placings in South Africa, Canada, Australia, and the US. She has been a SE qualifier for the USIR for 9 years.

 

Lindsay has participated and accomplished all levels in the Highland and Scottish National Medal Test progression with a number of invitations to the annual Sadie Simpson North American Scholarships. Lindsay was successful on many levels including Runner Up for the written paper.
